Two-dimensional correlation analysis for x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy

چکیده

Abstract X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measures the binding energy of core-level electrons, which are well-localised to specific atomic sites in a molecular system, providing valuable information on local chemical environment. The technique relies measuring spectrum upon x-ray photoionisation, and resolution is often limited by bandwidth ionising pulse. This particularly problematic for time-resolved XPS, where desired time enforces fundamental lower limit source. In this work, we report novel correlation analysis exploits between spectra improve XPS measurements. We show that with correlation-based spectral-domain ghost imaging method can achieve sub-bandwidth enables sources large or spectral jitter, previously considered unfeasible

Two-dimensional x-ray correlation spectroscopy of remote core states

Nonlinear all-X-ray signals that involve large core-atom separation compared to the X-ray wavelengths may not be described by the dipole approximation since they contain additional phase factors. Expressions for the rotationally averaged 2D X-ray photon echo signals from randomly oriented systems that take this position-dependent phase into account for arbitrary ratio between the core separatio...

X - Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy of Silicate Glasses

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is a powerful technique capable of providing unique information about the structural chemistry of glasses. However, inappropriate procedures for the preparation of sample surfaces or the lack of reliable methods to overcome electrostatic charging effects during analysis of dielectric materials can cause spurious features to be introduced or intrinsic featu...

On the use of two-time correlation functions for X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy data analysis

Multi-time correlation functions are especially well suited to study non-equilibrium processes. In particular, two-time correlation functions are widely used in X-ray photon correlation experiments on systems out of equilibrium. One-time correlations are often extracted from two-time correlation functions at different sample ages. However, this way of analysing two-time correlation functions is...
